Limited Permit Therapist (Part Time)
Dwellness is seeking motivated, independent, and self-disciplined limited permit Mental Health Counselor, Psychology post doc, Marriage & Family Therapist, or LMSW to join our growing clinical team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional clinical skills including experience working with children, families, and adults. Candidates will support clients with a variety of psychological and psychosocial challenges, including executive functioning impairments, and must have an interest in learning the nuances of home-based service.
As a limited permit clinician at Dwellness, you will:
Provide home-based clinical services: Our clinicians conduct psychological assessments and initial intakes, as well as provide ongoing individual, family, and couples psychotherapy, using a variety of treatment modalities. Dwellness clinicians are encouraged to identify specific populations of interest, for which they can utilize their specialized intervention skills.
• Participate in supervision: Supervision is an integral component of clinical training. Our limited permit clinicians are provided with one hour of group supervision every week and individual supervision as needed.
• Engage in ongoing clinical training: Clinicians will have access to ongoing didactics and monthly trainings to help deepen their knowledge in the topics relevant to home-based work and therapy provision through the lifespan. We work on fostering a positive community with clinicians from varying backgrounds including clinical/counseling psychology, mental health counseling, clinical social work, creative arts therapy, and drama therapy.
Background and Experience:
• Master’s degree in a counseling related field
• Limited Permit License in NYS (valid or eligible to apply)
• Flexibility with work hours and location preference; required after-school, evening, or weekend availability (No daytime work is available at this time)
• Completion of coursework/training in multicultural counseling preferred
• Required in-home availability to work with clients of all ages
• Vaccinated and boostered for COVID-19
• Willingness to travel throughout NYC
• Required case minimum of ten client session hours per week

Our clinicians specialize in different developmental periods and therapeutic techniques, which allows for an individualized treatment approach to address each client’s challenges.

We are looking to fill this position immediately; We are offering competitive fee-for-service rates.

Schedule: Flexible hours; 10 hours/week preferred if consistent with degree requirements
Responsibilities:
● Create and execute social media strategy through research, audience identification, and messaging
● Launch and maintain company social media pages and profiles
● Develop and implement social media marketing plan and editorial calendar
● Collaborate with founders to develop online content and publish postings
● Moderate user-generated content and messages appropriately, based on company and community policies
Background and Experience:
● Junior or Senior in college preferred
● Strong interest in social media and influencer marketing
● Interest in mental health field is a bonus
● Extreme attention to detail and organizational skills
● A self-starter who can take direction but work independently
● Proficiency in Adobe applications (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and iMovie preferred, but not required

Dwellness In-Home Psychological Services is an interdisciplinary private practice of a talented and passionate group of clinicians committed to making therapy accessible, convenient, and effective. We foster a positive, inclusive, diverse, and affirming community with clinicians from varying backgrounds including MHC, Marriage & Family Therapy, CAT, RDT, MSW, and Psychology. Our mental health practitioners support individuals across the lifespan, couples, and families by providing in-home, innovative in-person, and telehealth therapeutic services.
Dwellness is proud of its ongoing partnerships with community-based non-profit organizations like CitySquash and Breakthrough to support underserved and at-risk youth throughout the New York Metropolitan area. In 2022, Dwellness launched an initiative to provide group and individual grief counseling in collaboration with Sparrow Funeral Home in Brooklyn. Dwellness additionally partners with Friends of Firefighters providing psychotherapy to firefighters and their families. Dwellness also offers an advanced clinical training program for graduate students pursuing a master’s or PhD in a mental health field.
We accept applications from 2nd-year graduate students in MSW, MHC, CAT, and Marriage and Family Therapy programs for a year-long (9-12 month) training experience with the following learning opportunities:
Conduct intake evaluations, create treatment plans, and provide individual psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families in the home, virtually, or in the community via community partnerships (4-8 clients depending upon hours needs)
Write case conceptualizations, progress notes, and discharge summaries for all clients seen
Co-lead in-person grief group for individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one
Provide short-term, individual grief-focused psychotherapy while walking (Grief Walks)
Attend 1 hour of individual supervision and 1 hour of group supervision per week
Attend in-person orientation with training cohort (4-6 hours in September)
Attend virtual and in-person trainings throughout the year
Attend social opportunities with training cohort and licensed clinicians throughout the year
Training with Dwellness is well-suited for individuals possessing the following qualities:
Interest in working with children, adolescents, and their families
Interest in clinical manifestations and treatment of grief
Ability to apply multicultural conceptualization when working with clients
Ability and willingness to self-reflect on own biases, assumptions, and worldview
Ability to independently manage time, schedule, and tasks associated with being a clinician
Openness to collaboration, feedback, and supervision
