Ashrafee Rahman, MHC-I
Ashrafee Rahman (she/her) is a certified school counselor with six years of experience working with high school students, primarily from underrepresented and under-resourced backgrounds. As a school counselor, her work frequently focuses on addressing housing instability, the psychological impact of complex trauma and violence, and assisting students in navigating social issues and identity formation while fostering resilience and growth.
With a desire to expand her clinical acumen and ability to work with individuals across the developmental spectrum, Ashrafee is currently pursuing a master's degree in mental health counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University, and she is completing her internship with Dwellness In-Home Therapy. In her role as an advanced trainee with Dwellness, Ashrafee employs a holistic approach to therapy, emphasizing the whole being. She integrates her extensive experience with adolescents in school settings into her therapeutic work with clients, ensuring a comprehensive and empathetic approach to mental health.
Ashrafee's therapeutic style is characterized by warmth, intuition, and compassion, building genuine rapport and trust with her clients. She uses a person-centered, experiential approach tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, family, or group. Ashrafee is committed to empowering her clients, helping them uncover their strengths, and guiding them towards healing and self-fulfillment.
